Our client is among the largest global providers of insurance cover products. This highly reputable organisation is renowned for offering expertise in designing and executing direct insurance programs for their partners and clients. They are keen to expand their Pricing team and have created a new position for a Group Pricing Actuary.
The Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced actuarial analyst or newly qualified actuary with a sound understanding of insurance products and well-developed skills in modelling, data analysis and report writing. Reporting to the Group Pricing Manager, this position will play a crucial role in the management of key Industry Superannuation Fund clients, as well as the tendering for new business opportunities. Key Accountabilities
Carry out pricing and experience analysis on existing and new business tenders
Develop, maintain, use and supervise pricing and experience analysis models
Support the Group Pricing Manager by preparing client presentations and providing valuable pricing insights to ensure pricing meets corporate profitability targets and relevant corporate and regulatory standards
Support the development of new product designs by providing actuarial pricing judgement
Compile and maintain documentation of pricing decisions, methodology and assumptions
Engage and manage reinsurance partnerships and consult with underwriters, product managers, lawyers and claims managers where necessary
To be successful in this role you will have:
Good understanding of life insurance
Strong research, analytical and modelling experience
Excellent numerical skills and ability to manage large data sets
Excellent communications (oral and written)
Self-reliant team player with ability to work and collaborate with others in teams
Accuracy and attention to detail
Qualifications Required:
Degree in Actuarial Sciences, mathematics or related field
Moderate experience in related actuarial business roles
Skilled with applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word and ideally Alteryx (or equivalent)
Exam progress - minimum completion of Part I, Part II exams and one Part III exam with Actuaries Institute or equivalent body
