The Organisation

- Our client is a well respected and customer centric global Investment Manager based in Sydney. The objective of this organisation is to provide high quality, long term investments and relevant products to clients across asset classes and regions. Their investment capabilities include Australian and global equities, global emerging markets and Asia Pacific equities, direct and listed infrastructure, fixed income and multi-asset solutions, systematic equities and listed property.

The Opportunity

Being part of the Global Product Function, this role will contribute to the goals of the Investment Product Research and Assurance team to support the development and management of a profitable, sustainable, innovative and strategically targeted product suite.

Key Accountabilities

  • Contribute to a systematic process to assess investment capabilities, investment risk practices and risk positioning of portfolios.

  • Carry out competitor and market trend analysis utilising a range of desktop research tools and other resources.

  • Contribute to product research reviews and business case development in conjunction with other teams for new products prior to sign-off and for existing products according to an agreed timetable and priority list.

  • Perform risk and performance analyses of investment capabilities across equity, fixed income and multi-asset portfolios.

  • Gather in-depth knowledge of risk systems and design and develop new risk reports including working with IT and Portfolio and Risk Teams to put risk reports into production.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Investment management knowledge and experience, knowledge of investment markets and understanding of investment techniques and processes

  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills

  • Experience of portfolio risk modelling, analysis and reporting with tools such as eVestment, Morningstar Direct, FactSet and Aladdin would be beneficial

  • Programming and coding skills would be seen as a positive

  • CFA qualification or something similar or the intention to study towards an appropriate qualification

  • Proactive, enthusiastic and willing to contribute to a dynamic and global team
