Date: Tuesday 9th October
Time: 5.30pm – 7.30pm (Doors close at 6pm)
Address: Level 2, 37 Bligh Street, Sydney
Complimentary – Please feel free to send a member of your team if you cannot make it!
Without further ado, let’s meet the panellists!
Emily Wu, Group Product Business Partner at AIA
Emily is currently working at AIA as a Group Product Business Partner. Her role involves working across all AIA’s Industry Fund and Government Fund clients and tending their every need from product changes to coffee orders (just kidding about the coffee orders). Effectively she works closely with AIA’s distribution team, clients and internal Pricing, Actuarial and Risk teams to make sure AIA are developing tailored solutions which suits the unique demographic and needs of each of AIA’s clients. This extends from upfront product design, helping with digital underwriting design and evaluating how the product terms are applied in practice. During her time at AIA so far, Emily has been involved in the retention of one of AIA’s largest clients and helping with the implementation of the Insurance in Super Code of Practice. She has also been involved in designing brand new products and out of the ordinary product designs.
Prior to Emily’s current role, she was a Senior Product Manager at CommInsure and was responsible for managing all Mastertrust and Corporate products. As the sole Product Manager at the time, Emily helped renew all Mastertrust Products and assisted with the design phase of a new Corporate product.
Emily has a Bachelor of Laws with Honours and was a litigation lawyer in a past life but sadly never got to make an appearance on Judge Judy. She is the eldest of 5 children, her favourite thing to do is eat and she binges on reality TV from time to time.

Peri Sandford, Corporate Communications Professional
Peri has worked with some of the biggest public relations firms here and overseas, providing communications counsel for more than a decade to large corporates and consumer brands. At Edelman, the largest independent PR firm in the world, she led three of the top five revenue-generating clients at the firm, managing large, integrated account teams with PR, social, digital and paid media expertise.
For clients like Commonwealth Bank, IAG, Hewlett-Packard, LinkedIn, Samsung and Rabobank, Peri was responsible for developing and managing the implementation of everything from issues management strategy to integrated media campaigns and employee engagement programs. As 2IC of the firm’s Corporate Practice, Peri also led a team of young and bright practitioners, encouraging creative ideas and strategies that, when executed, met objectives, whether engaging employees, increasing demand for goods or services, influencing government policy or enhancing organisational reputations.
Throughout her career, Peri has dealt with more than one unusual client — including a Chinese telecommunications company accused of spying by the Australian government — and even stranger client requests — like flying 16hrs from London to Portland, Oregon for a global sports brand wanting her to run a 3hr strategy workshop. In April this year, Peri left a successful career, taking six months off to relax and recharge, for the first time in her professional life.
The event will be MC’d by Parity’s Managing Director, Victoria Butt who also has an incredible story in terms of her career and how she at the age of 29 started her own business, Parity Consulting, now nearing its 7th year in operation!
