The Opportunity
This role will support the Data and Insights team functions by reviewing and analysing the customer data infrastructure, plan future databases, and implement solutions to store and manage data for the Marketing team. The Data & Insights team provides the insight and advanced analytical capabilities to drive the organisation's customer strategy at scale.
Key Accountabilities
- Design and specify the architecture blueprint for the Data & Analytics Platform. Create & maintain Architecture artefacts (Architecture definition document, High level designs, physical components, and cloud architecture)
- Contribute to architectural efficiency and synergies across products and publisher by identifying and managing inclusion of reusable assets
- Document changes to secure current and future architectural state in the Data & Analytics platform
- Ensure consistency with relevant digital frameworks, principles, guidelines, and standards
- Continuously maintain and looking for opportunities to improve the Data & Analytics platform based on feedback and close collaboration with stakeholders and product teams
- Work closely together with partners, peers and other relevant roles like architects, product owners, data engineers, or data scientists
- Contribute to securing the technical roadmap for Data & Analytics platform where needed
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- 7+ experience in a data-related discipline, architecture, or senior IT role
- Experience in designing and managing large, complex database environments, including performance optimisation, environment & release management, designing, implementing, and auditing database and High Availability and Disaster Recovery concepts, technologies, and processes
- Expert in relational and unstructured databases & data warehousing, data structures & data architecture and data modelling, including conceptualisation, database optimisation & design capability
- Solid understanding of the cloud, databases, and the applications and programs used by those databases, emerging data technologies, data management and reporting technologies, knowledge of columnar and NoSQL databases, predictive analytics, and data visualisation
- Advanced skills in one or more major corporate databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase, Informix, DB2 etc and skilled in database programming languages for Pipelining & General Purposes - Python, Scala, Java, C, C++, PHP, HTML5 or equivalent
- Detailed understanding of data privacy and privacy
