The Company - Our client is a trusted household name and one of Australia's leading providers of life insurance and has been active in the market for over 20 years. They are on a journey to significantly increase the level of communication with customers and to enable then to do this, they are creating a new role for a Business Owner of Customer Management. This role will sit within the Commercial Management Team and will report to the COO of this team.

The Role

The Business Owner, Customer Management will be responsible for strategically driving the development, launch and design of the new "Customer Capabilities". Working closely with the marketing teams, pricing team and product team you will be consolidating all the business needs from across the business, and translating these into a roadmap of delivery. You will build the user stories and businesses cases for new delivery, and then work as the business owner with Dev-ops team to deliver the new capability. With an entrepreneurial mindset, you will be a creative thinker and have confidence to take informed risks and experiment with approach. You will be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously, displaying calmness and composure in uncertain and ambiguous situations.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop the strategic roadmap for new digital customers capabilities

  • Collate business needs to understand the requirements

  • Oversee research process

  • Prioritise and delivery capabilities iteratively to meet customer needs

  • Deliver new customer capabilities for the business

  • Define requirements by building lean canvasses

  • Work with the technical delivery teams and product owners to prepare business cases, timelines and launch plans.

  • Play the role of Business Owner to give sign off to delivery teams

  • Work with the business to ensure that new capabilities are used buy the business and customers in appropriate manner

To be successful for the role you will have:

  • 5+ years in a Product Management role designing and delivering world-class solutions that drive customer delight and business growth.

  • Experience in a Financial Services Environment would be ideal.

  • Passionate about unearthing customer insights and championing the voice of the customer.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across functions, locations and cultures to deliver a delightful end-to-end customer experience.

  • Outstanding analytical skills, demonstrated by roadmaps and recommendations backed by solid customer and market data.

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written and a track record of gaining the confidence of senior management.

  • Hands-on, hard-working, scrappy and even-keeled - energised rather than frustrated by hard problems and surprises

  • Usability and Customer Focused design would be a plus.
