The Opportunity
The Data Technical Business Analyst supports the management, documentation and development of the management information and business intelligence functions within IT. The Data Technical Business Analyst will work with key stakeholders and teams across multiple platforms. The role works closely with data engineers in a self-organised manner with the proven ability to deliver the products and features as required in a timely manner.
Key Accountabilities
The role will contribute to the process of simplifying and consolidating the management information environment and ensuring that data management processes meet applicable Enterprise Data compliance, privacy, quality and audit standards.
Produce precise mapping documents that can be passed directly to data engineers.
Analyse data in source systems to identify orphans/duplicates and provide instructions on how to handle them.
Assist with the interpretation of requirements for key business processes and project objectives and develop solutions.
Contribute to the development of management information components that are required by projects and business users.
Ensure data management processes meet applicable Enterprise Data, compliance, privacy, quality, and audit standards.
Contribute to data profiling, quality, and lineage management.
Facilitate complex conversations about Data with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
This position requires an experienced Business Analyst who has worked on data integration or business intelligence projects.
Solid and proven experience working as a Technical Business Analyst in data warehousing or integration projects using ETL methodologies.
Tertiary qualifications in related subjects; Business Analysis and documentation experience in data projects; Jira & Confluence experience
Experience working on developing Enterprise Data Model would make the profile more attractive
Excellent interrogation and documentation skills, with proven experience creating project and functional spec documentation and a basic understanding of Azure fundamentals.
Several years' experience with SQL Server / TSQL in a large commercial environment
Data profiling and quality management experience.
Solid understanding of agile methodologies.
Experience in cloud technology is a bonus.
Experience in life insurance domain is appreciated.
